A multidrop (or catch-all) email account is used to collect emails sent to email addresses which you haven't explicitly set up.
A multidrop email account can be set up in addition to or as a replacement for your existing email addresses.

Deciding on what type of email multidrop account to set up is extremely important, as there are two main ways to
set up a multidrop email account:

you can remove all your email addresses and email users and replace them with a single multidrop account. This option is suitable
if you have a mail server set up in your office which is set to 'pop' emails from one email account and then distribute emails internally; or

you can add a multidrop email account to your email set-up. This option is suitable if you want some people to have their own email
accounts (say, if they are often away from the office) so that they can access their emails using a PC or through webmail.

Which option you choose depends on how you wish to set your email up.
